Set up white on the bottom and black on the top like so. Two rows on each board overlap regardless of how it actually looks. The attack boards can move 1 pin distance when occupied by exactly 1 piece. They can also rotate 180. Pieces must move across boards horizontally to change to a different level. Queens and rooks can travel over the void between attack boards. Kings can castle across the void. You may not castle on your first turn. Pawns can perform en passant across levels.
